Reconstituting Very Thick Lumiere
  • Is there a way to thin or reconstitute Lumiere that has become very, very, very thick? I know that I can thin it with water but I'm not sure that's the best way to do it.
  • Thinning the Lumiere with water is the best way to go - up to about 25% - beyond that may interfere with the paint's ability to bond to the fabric. Another option would be to use a more flowable paint such as Dye-Na-Flow in a similar color. This would allow you to thin to your heart's content and not compromise the paint's wash-ability. There will be, however, be a change in the color of the paint due to the addition of a different pigment so you'll probably want to do some testing.
  • The Dye-Na-Flow might be the perfect answer in this case since the color is violet and I believe the Dye-Na-Flow violet and the Lumiere violet are very close in color. Thanks for the suggestion.
  • yes water the best option for Lumiere
