Asa Culver
Asa Culver is a multimedia artist based in Phoenix, Arizona. Her work explores a wide variety of alternative photographic processes including cyanotype, anothotype, and infrared photography. Growing up in a small rural town in Maryland, she moved to Arizona in 2018 to pursue a BFA in Photography from Arizona State University, graduating in 2022.
Her work is heavily inspired by the unique environment of the southwest landscape, which makes much of her work possible. The majority of her artist and photographic practices require intense, direct sunlight. 300+ sunny days each year in Phoenix allows her to create the work she does. Through her work she pays tribute to the southwestern landscape.

“Arizona is my favorite place to be. It is what inspires my work, and what makes it possible. I am so fascinated by the environment and what the desert holds, cacti in particular. Much of my work stems from my love of the outdoors and wanting to create art that allows me to spend time outside.”
