Hi - dying bamboo knit fabric
  • I dont really know what immersion dyeing is but I figured I would be immersing the fabric I want to dye into water.
;-/ So- I want to dye bamboo knit fabric into pastel colors and was told to use proscion mx- I am in Texas and we have Hobby Lobby and Michaels and thats it.

Any suggestions? Would order from you but dont have much time.
  • You can use Procion MX with soda ash (http://www.jacquardproducts.com/procion-mx.html) to dye your bamboo fabric, or you can use iDye (http://www.jacquardproducts.com/idye.html). iDye can be used in the washer, and does not require any additional chemicals. PMX dyes are typically used in a bucket or pot. Use our Store Locator to find these products near you (http://www.jacquardproducts.com/storelocator/). For pastel colors, you'll just want to dilute your dye bath. Immersion dyeing just refers to the method of immersing fabric in a dye bath. Dye baths are created by mixing a dye powder with water. For pastel colors, just use less dye (or more water) than is recommended for bold colors when mixing up your dye bath. Good luck!
