painting on nylon
  • Hi,
I want to paint on some waterproof umbrellas and I'm not sure how to go about it. Which paints can I use? Do I need to prepare the material first?
Any suggestiond would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
  • Hi,
Treated fabrics are a little harder to work with. In certain cases the treatment may prevent the paint from adhering to the fibers. There really isn't anything you can do to prepare the fabric but you can ad our airfix chemical to the paint, this is used in circumstances where heat setting is problematic. Any of the following paints should be suitable for use on the umbrellas. Lumiere, Neopaque, textile color and Dye-na-Flow. Please do a test first. here is a link to the page for airfix http://www.jacquardproducts.com/products/chemicals/airfix/ Just a thought we also have cotton umbrellas that you could paint and then waterproof later.
