New to Fabric Arts - Question
  • Hi there!

I'm just begining to do fabric painting. I have been an artist for a while, and decided to try out something new.

The question I have is regarding "curing".

I have read several things that say to let the paint "cure" on the fabric before heat setting. But when I look at the instructions for Jacquard Textile Paints, this step is not mentioned. So I'm wondering if I need to do this or not, if so for how long, and what kind of difference it might make in the final product. I'd like to create some high-quality art clothing, and would really like to know the best method for ensuring lasting paint.

    Thanks so much!
  • Hi,

It is always good to leave the paints to dry completely before setting with the iron. As long as they are heat set according to the instructions on the label you should be OK.
