hi, i have 2 questions - 1) i want to dye a pair of dark blue jeans black, they are 75% cotton, 24% polyester + 1% spandex... would that work? if so, how much dye should i use?
Polyester blends generally do not dye well with our Procion MX dyes (the standard dye for cotton) You could give it a try, but I think the results will be less than fantastic. If you want to give it a try use about 4 tablespoons of color 150 Jet Black. Here is the link to our dyeing instructions http://www.jacquardproducts.com/products/dyes/procionmx/
If you do the project in your sink it will stain--if you have a porcelain sink you can bleach it out.
