Screen printing on wool
  • hello,

I am looking to screen print a pattern on wool fabric with a nap. The total area I need to print on is about 2 yards more or less. Anyways, what would be the easiest way to set the thickened acid dyes? I am trying not to need to steam it, and know with other stuff I can use soda ash (but not on wool). Are there any chemical fixatives that would work for this? Thanks in advance!
  • It seems like you know the best way to do this is to steam it. However, if you want to do it chemically, you might find success using the Idye fixative. It should theoretically set the acid dye in the fiber without steaming. We are testing it right now, and should know in a couple of hours. I will post again when we know more.
