dyeing lady's silk suit
  • I have a silk suit that I would like to dye. I am getting conflicting information about the feasibility of such a project. The suit is a copper color and has a matching synthetic lining. I would like to dye it black. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am in hurry (my daughter's wedding!)
  • Hi, Acid dye will dye the silk part of the suit for sure. If the linning is nylon it will also dye that as well. if it is polyesetr it will not take the color. here is a link to our acid dye instructions. The suit must be able to withstand washing in order to dye it as acid dye is a hot water dye. Celia
