How to dye Polyester/Elastane/Spandex materials?
  • I am completely new to dyes and what kind of "binders" etc.. I would need to dye my own shirts and clothing.

I want to evenly dye a white or neon colored top such as
    http://www.amazon.com/Under-Armour-HeatGear®-Compression-Sleeve/dp/B00884L06I/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1445670387&sr=8-3&keywords=under+armour+shirt

I am afraid if I attempt to dye it my own, it'll come out uneven.

Is there a certain method or online tutorials on how to use thermochromic dyes, or are they same as all other fabric dyes?

If anyone can help me find where I can buy all the materials to do this I would be very grateful!!!
  • Generally speaking, dye have fixatives rather than binders. Polyester and nylon(Lycra) do not use fixatives, but there are carriers that help to achieve deeper shades of color.

We are working on new videos, but here is an old one. Polyester is easy to dye with Idye poly, but does require a boil.

For lines printing or painting. Our Neopaque, Lumiere, and JSI professional screen ink work best on synthetics
