Steam or heat?

With my Print on Silk pack came instructions on steam setting the inks; however, I've seen a couple things on heat setting with an iron. Which is better, i.e., more permanent? The stock pot steamer seems like a pain, but if it works better, I'm game to do it.

One thing I'm not clear on, with the steamer, is, can I steam more than one piece of fabric at a time? We're talking 8.5x11 sheets here.
