I would like to accent some acid dye painted silk with lumiere. I'm not sure when to apply it, though. Before steaming, while the silk is still on the stretcher? Or after it's been steamed and washed? I've never worked with lumiere, and I'm a beginner with the silks, so any information that might help would be appreciated!

Hi,
Lumiere (http://www.jacquardproducts.com/products/paints/lumiere/) must be heat set with an iron before being washed or exposed to steam. you can apply the Lumiere either before or after but it must be ironed first. I prefer to add the accents after steaming that way ironing the unsteamed dyes is not an issue.
